Javier: Hola, ¿tenéis un minuto?

Sara y Carmen: Hola.

J: Mi nombre es Javier, soy un fotógrafo en pleno desarrollo de un proyecto fotográfico personal que estoy realizando en Málaga. Me gustaría invitaros ¿qué os parece?

S: Me parece muy bien.

C: Vale. 

J: Sois gemelas ¿verdad?

C: Si, yo fui la primera en nacer. Si yo hubiera sido princesa, yo sería la que reinaría (risas)

J: Carmen, Sara ¿De dónde sois?

C: Nacimos en Málaga hace 18 años.

J: ¿Cual es la diferencia más notable entre las vosotras dos?

C: Sara tiene más carácter que yo. 

J: ¿A qué os dedicais?

S y C: Somos estudiantes de medicina en la UMA.

J: ¿habéis estado en el mismo colegio y clase desde el comienzo de vuestros estudios?

C: Hicimos primaria y la ESO juntas, pero nos cansamos de que nuestros tutores no mostraran un mínimo de interés por diferenciarnos. A ambas nos llamaban “Carmensara, Saracarmen” simplemente por no dignarse a aprenderse nuestros nombres distinguiéndonos la una de la otra, íbamos vestidas de manera diferente, pero no sirvió de nada. Al terminar la ESO decidimos seguir nuestros estudios en institutos diferentes. 

J: Háblame de tus metas y tus sueños, Sara.

S: Mi meta es predecible, acabar mis estudios y especializarme en cirugía como mi abuelo. Mi sueño, aparte de viajar por todo el mundo, una vez que me especialice quiero ser influyente en los pacientes, empatizar con ellos y que sientan cuando hablen conmigo, que existe algo más que la enfermedad. 

J: Háblame de tus metas y tus sueños, Carmen.

C: Pues al igual que mi hermana, acabar mis estudios de medicina, pero disfrutando del camino, no quiero que sea una obsesión, no quiero perderme ninguna experiencia de mi vida por terminar mis estudios en 6 años exactos. Quiero disfrutar del camino, vivir mis experiencias que seguro se sumaran a mis conocimientos, y al mismo tiempo me desarrollaré como persona. Mi sueño es dejar huella de algún modo, encontrar la especialidad en la que yo sea realmente buena y ser la mejor. Cuando te gusta tu trabajo, entonces dejas de trabajar.

 J: ¿Qué consideráis importante en vuestras vidas?

S: La familia y la salud. 

C: La felicidad y la motivación. 

J: Es increíble, sois tan iguales y diferentes a la vez. 

J: Me gustaría que me dijeseis una frase que tenga mucho significado para vosotras.

S: “Nunca un mar en calma hizo experto a un marinero”

C: “No cuentes los días, haz que los días cuenten”

Javier: Hi, do you have a minute?

Sara and Carmen: Hi.

J: My name is Javier, I am a photographer in full swing of a personal photographic project that I am doing in Malaga. I would like to invite you, what doy think?

S: Sounds good to me.

C: Ok.

J: You are twins, right?

C: Yes, I was the first to be born. If I had been a princess, I would be the one to reign (laughs)

J: Carmen, Sara, Where are you from?

C: We was born in Malaga 18 years ago.

J: What is the most remarkable difference between the two of you?

C: Sara has more character than me.

J: What do yo do?

S & C: We are medical students at the UMA.

J: Have you been in the same school and class since the beginning of your studies?

C: We did primary and ESO together, but we got tired of tutors showing no interest in differentiating us. We were both called "Carmensara, Saracarmen" simply for not deigning to learn our names by distinguishing one from the other, we were dressed differently, but it did not help. At the end of ESO we decided to continue our studies in different institutes.

J: Tell me about your goals and your dreams, Sara.

S: My goal is predictable, to finish my studies and to specialize in surgery like my grandfather. My dream, apart from traveling around the world, once I specialize I want to be influential in patients, to empathize with them and to feel when they talk to me, that there is more to the disease.

J: Tell me about your goals and your dreams, Carmen.

C: Well like my sister, finishing my medical studies, but enjoying the way, I do not want it to be an obsession, I do not want to lose any experience of my life for always completing my studies in exact 6 years. I want to enjoy the way, to live my experiences that will surely add to my knowledge, and at the same time I will develop as a person. My dream is to make a mark in some way, to find the specialty in which I am really good and to be the best. When you like your job, then you stop working.

J: What do you consider important in your lives?

S: Family and health.

C: Happiness and motivation.

J: It's incredible, you are so equal and different at the same time.

J: I would like you to tell me a phrase that has a lot of meaning for you.

S: "Never a calm sea made an expert sailor"

C: "Do not count the days make the days count"

La improvisación de vivir.

Javier: ¿De dónde eres, Saray?

Saray: Nací en Málaga hace 27 años. 

J: ¿A qué te dedicas?

S: Cuando terminé el bachillerato no tenía muy claras mis opciones para seguir estudiando, así que decidí trabajar. Llevo trabajando desde los 17 años. 

J: ¿Cuál es tu profesión actualmente?

S: He tenido varios trabajos, principalmente en la hosteleria. Ahora soy encargada en una cafetería famosa. Se me da muy bien el trato con los demás, trabajar de cara al público. Soy muy empática.

J: Háblame sobre alguna experiencia personal que haya sido relevante en tu vida.

S: Te puedo contar una que es bastante significativa para mí. Fue un punto al que llegué posiblemente por rutina, por pura monotonía, me aburría en Málaga. Por aquel entonces tenía 22 años y decidí marcharme a Edimburgo (Escocia). Allí estuve viviendo en un albergue junto a 30 personas más. Mi experiencia fue muy positiva. Soy hija única y aquello fue como tener una gran familia. 

J: ¿Qué diferencias entre estas dos ciudades destacarías tras haber vivido esa experiencia?

S: Existen muchas diferencias entre Edimburgo y Málaga. Todavía tenemos que evolucionar en muchos aspectos sociales. En Málaga tenemos maneras de pensar bastante obsoletas que hay que cambiar; pero, por otra parte, es cierto que Málaga está experimentado un cambio.

J: Háblame de tus metas y de tus sueños.

S: Mi meta la tengo prevista a corto plazo. Voy a recorrer la India en bicicleta, quiero finalizar el recorrido tomando té tibetano mientras contemplo el Himalaya en Nepal. Mi sueño es comprar un terreno y vivir de mi propia cosecha.

J: ¿Qué consideras importante en tu vida?

S: El amor en general y a gran escala. 

J: Dime una frase que tenga mucho significado para ti.

S: Las cosas no suelen ocurrir de forma organizada en la vida, así que mi frase es: «La improvisación de vivir».

Javier: Where are you from, Saray?

Saray: I was born in Málaga 27 years ago.

J: What do you do?

S: When I finished high school I was very unsure about my options for further study, so I decided to work. I have been working since I was 17 years old.

J: What is your profession these days?

S: I have had several jobs, mainly in the hospitality industry. Now I'm the person in charge in a famous coffee shop. I am very good at dealing with others, working directly with the public. I am very empathetic.

J: Tell me about some personal experience that has been relevant in your life.

S: I can tell you one that is quite meaningful to me. It was a point to which I arrived possibly because of the routine, due to pure monotony, I was bored in Málaga. At that time, I was 22 years old and I decided to go to Edinburgh, Scotland. There I was living in a hostel with 30 other people. My experience was very positive. I am an only child and it was like having a big family.

J: What differences between these two cities would you highlight after having lived that experience?

S: There are many differences between Edinburgh and Málaga. We still have to evolve in many social aspects. In Málaga we have rather obsolete ways of thinking that have to be changed; but, on the other hand, it is true that Málaga is undergoing a change.

J: Tell me about your goals and your dreams.

S: I'll accomplish my goal in the short run. I'm going to tour India by bicycle; I want to finish the tour drinking Tibetan tea while I contemplate the Himalayas in Nepal. My dream is to buy a piece of land and live on my own crop.

J: What do you consider important in your life?

S: Love in general and on a large scale.

J: Tell me a phrase that has a lot of meaning for you.

S: Things do not usually happen in an organized way in life, so my phrase is: "The improvisation of living".

J: ¿Cómo te llamas? ¿de dónde eres? ¿a qué te dedicas?

N: Me llamo Nerissa y nací en Melilla. Soy médico de profesión. 

J: ¿Cuánto tiempo llevas viviendo en Málaga?

N: Vivo en Málaga desde hace 7 años, tras pasar por varias y grandes ciudades como Salamanca, Oviedo, Córdoba, Madrid.. puedo decir por fin que en esta ciudad he encontrado mi lugar. 

J: ¿Qué factores te han condicionado para pensar que este es tu lugar?

N: Málaga tiene todo lo que necesito para desarrollarme plenamente a nivel personal y laboral. 

J: ¿Desde cuando conoces Málaga?

N: Desde la infancia junto a mis padres, he recorrido prácticamente toda la Costa del Sol. He notado un gran cambio, desde mi infancia hasta la Málaga cosmopolita actual hay un abismo. El cambio ha sido cultural, urbanístico, gastronómico especializado, económico y todos esos factores, demuestran en resumen un cambio social bastante grande que se ha producido en Málaga. 

J: Dime una frase que tenga mucho sentido para ti. 

N: No pienses en caer, perfecciona tu equilibrio.

Nerissa: Okey.

J: What is your name? where are you from? what do you do?

N: My name is Nerissa and I was born in Melilla. I am a doctor. 

J: How long have you been living in Malaga?

N: I live in Malaga since 7 years ago, after passing through several and big cities like Salamanca, Oviedo, Cordoba, Madrid .. I can finally say that in this city I have found my place.

J: What factors have conditioned you to think that this is your place?

N: Malaga has everything I need to fully develop myself personally and occupacionally.

J: Since when do you know Malaga?

N: From childhood together with my parents, I have traveled practically all the Costa del Sol. I have noticed a great change, from my childhood to the current cosmopolitan Malaga there is an abyss. The change has been cultural, urban, gastronomic specialized, economic and all of these factors, demonstrate in short,a rather large social change that has taken place in Malaga.

J: Tell me a phrase that makes a lot of sense to you. 

N: Do not think about falling, perfect your balance.

La libertad no cae del cielo, hay que trabajar para conseguirla.

Javier: ¡Hola! ¿Hablas español?

Fehöcler: No (responde con signos mímicos).

J: Está bien. Supongo que hablas inglés, ¿verdad?

F: Sí, un poco. 

J: Me llamo Javier y me gustaría hacerte unas preguntas y algunas fotos. Es para un proyecto personal, ¿qué te parece?

F: Vale, me parece bien.

J: ¿Cómo te llamas? ¿De dónde eres?

F: Me llamo Jan Fehöcler y nací en Alemania hace 46 años. 

J: Veo que haces de mimo en la calle, ¿te da para vivir con lo que ganas haciendo de mimo o tienes otros trabajos además de este?

F: No gasto más de lo que gano, ni necesito más de lo que gasto. Mi filosofía de vida es grande y simple a la vez: ser feliz y sentirme libre. La sociedad está demasiado estructurada, nos pone límites que nos separan de nuestra creatividad, de nuestra libertad. 

J: ¿Por qué escogiste España? Perdón, voy a ser más concreto, ¿por qué te has quedado en Málaga?

F: He viajado por infinidad de países, pero aquí se está mejor que en Alemania y que en cualquier otro lugar. Málaga es un paraíso. 

J: ¿Por qué azul?

F: El mar es azul, el cielo es azul y yo soy azul. 

Dime una frase que tenga mucho sentido para ti. 

F: „Freiheit wird nicht von oben gegeben. Freiheit wird von unten gegeben“. La libertad no cae del cielo, hay que trabajar para conseguirla.

F: My name is Jan Fehcler and I was born in Germany 46 years ago.

J: I see you work a mime in the street, can you live off of this job or do you have other jobs besides this one?

F: I do not spend more than I earn, I do not need more than I spend. My philosophy of life is great and simple at the same time: to be happy and to feel free. Society is too structured; It puts limits on us that separate us from our creativity, our freedom.

J: Why did you choose Spain? Sorry, I'll be more specific, why did you stay in Malaga?

F: I have traveled by many countries, but here I am better than in Germany and than anywhere else. Malaga is a paradise.

J: Why blue?

F: The sea is blue, the sky is blue and I am blue.

J: Tell me a phrase that makes a lot of sense to you.

F: "Freiheit wird nicht von oben gegeben. Freiheit wird von unten gegeben ". Freedom does not fall from the sky; You have to work to get it.
